P.T.M. Group of Institutions, was started by Sri. Kottukal Dhamodharan Pillai in honour of Sri. Pattom Thanupillai, a great leader and the former chief minister of Kerala State. The campus of the college is situated 18 kms south of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. The motto of the PTM group of institution is “popularization of education among the downtrodden and bring them at par with the rest of the world and in general to help social uplift”.

The group had its humble beginning with a Primary School in 1976, which was upgraded as a high school in 1984 and as a Vocational Higher Secondary School in 1995. In 2004 Pattom Thanu Pillai Memorial Institute of Teacher Education was established for conducting T.T.C course (currently the D.El.Ed course), which was approved by NCTE and Government of Kerala and in 2006 Pattom Thanu Pillai Memorial College of Education was established for conducting the B.Ed. course with seven optional subjects affiliated to the University of Kerala and was recognized by the NCTE in that year itself.

Now with the guidance of visionary management, team work of commitment staff , these two institutions had developed into full-fledged teacher education institutions imparting quality Teacher Education for catering the needs of student community all over India, especially to the students of Kerala state and producing competent and skilled teachers who are committed to serve the future generations.
