PTM College of Education had a beginning in 2006 with five Optional Subjects- English, Malayalam, Physical Science, Natural Science, and Mathematics, under Kerala University. The college gained recognition from NCTE in the same year itself. The very next year two more Optional Subjects – Social Science and Commerce were also sanctioned.
The college follows two year B. ED. Curriculum with credit and semester system and grading developed by university of Kerala since the college has been affiliated with the University of Kerala. The vision statement of the curriculum reads” Empowerment of prospective teachers with value embedded and competency-based teacher education curriculum, to equip them to be professionally competent, adaptable and socially committed, to meet the challenges in a knowledge society”.
